There are more and more types of wires and cables in the market. How to distinguish the "national standard" and "non-standard" of the wires and cables? One look, two tests, three weighings, four price comparisons, and five look at copper quality, five tricks will see the difference.
Nowadays, wires and cables are more and more widely used, and subsequently, there are more and more types of wires and cables on the market. So, how do we distinguish the "national standard" and "non-standard" of wires and cables? To this end, the editor of this journal consulted with industry veterans, who gave five tips to distinguish between "national standard" and "non-standard" wire and cable:
one look. It depends on whether the wire and cable product has a quality system certification, whether the certificate is standardized, whether there is a factory name, site, inspection stamp, and production date, and whether there are trademarks, specifications, voltages, etc. printed on the wires. It also depends on the cross-section of the copper core of the wire. The high-quality copper is bright in color and soft in color, otherwise it is inferior.
Second try. It is recommended to bend a wire head repeatedly by hand. Anything with a soft hand feel, good fatigue resistance, elastic hand feel of plastic or rubber, and no cracks on the wire insulator, is an excellent product.
Three weights. Good quality wires and cables generally weigh within the specified weight range per 100m. For example, the commonly used plastic insulated single-strand copper core wire with a cross-sectional area of 1.5mm2 has a weight of 1.8-1.9kg per 100m; a 2.5mm2 plastic insulated single-strand copper core wire has a weight of 3-3.1kg per 100m; 4.0mm2 of plastic Insulated single-strand copper core wire, weighing 4.4-4.6kg per 100m, etc. Poor quality wires have insufficient weight, either the length is not enough, or the copper core of the wire is too much impurity.
Four ratios of price. Due to the low production cost of counterfeit and shoddy wires, vendors often sell them at low prices under the guise of low prices and good quality when selling, which makes people fooled. Therefore, when making a purchase, be careful not to dazzle the merchant's advertised "good quality and low price", and ultimately be deceived.
Five look at copper. The copper core of the qualified copper core wire should be purple-red, shiny, and soft to the touch. Inferior copper core wires are purple-black, yellowish or white, with a lot of impurities, poor mechanical strength, poor toughness, and will break with a little force, and there are often broken wires in the wires. During inspection, you only need to peel off one end of the wire, and then rub a piece of white paper on the copper core. If there is a black substance on the white paper, it means that there are more impurities in the copper core, which can be regarded as "non-standard". "Wire and Cable.
